As we are frantically getting ready, I must apologise for this news update both being late and a little short. We are, however, if we are to believe the weather men, set for a calm and sunny weekend with Sunday looking to be the best day of all; along with being the actual day of our apple event.
We have just received our new pressing of apple juices from this years harvest and, being on taste this Sunday, we eagerly await your opinion.
As always, we have a huge array of our own apples along with a variety of English apples on display to taste and buy, with large discounts available by the box. There are also oodles of cheap bramley windfalls available for those of you wanting to beat the credit crunch and freeze some down for the winter !
A constantly changing team of our chefs will be out on the patio, offering cooking demonstrations on all things apples, if I have not drafted them in to assist me with the ever popular hog roast that is ! Last year this proved so popular that we have drafted in our other, slightly rustic, homemade roaster to handle the 2 rare breed pigs being roasted this year.
Also on taste will be a massive selection of chutneys and jams from the new market ranges and a vast selection of cheeses from the deli also on taste. To wash all this down there will be Cornish Orchards ciders, wassail and apple juices all on taste to try before you buy.
And don't forget, if you are coming to the farm you can make a day of it with the farm still open for 'pick your own' on of course apples but also our late crop of runner beans, sweetcorn, raspberries and still picking are some of the best strawberries of the year.
