Firstly, what a fantastic weekend... massive savings were taken advantage of by you, the community! Do you know just how much you walked out the door with? We do, as we have just printed the report and it totals over £1000.00 of discount handed out this weekend on the products you purchased. And there was also the lucky winner of the £50 hamper for becoming the 1000th applicant to the community card. Mrs Jago, a staunch and loyal customer, we thank you and congratulate you on your winning!

More prizes and community weekends are on their way so keep enlisting, telling your friends and getting people to join our 'food march' and make it better for everyone.

Our Cowboy Western weekend is looming and below is our menu to tantalise the taste buds. All created using traditional and original recipes from the frontiers and campfires of the wild west, featuring local Longhorn, reared by the Ellis brothers, with 15% off for community card holders how could you resist....email below to reserve your table.

Come all yee cowboys and girls...
The research has gone in by our budding team of chefs to come up with an authentic and slightly fun menu for our Western evenings on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th November. Fancy Dress optional !
Starters
Sweet potato and country leek soup
Grandma’s famous Ox Tail soup garnished with mixed vegetable crisps 
Shrimp Chowder
All above served with our home made rolls or try some homemade western bread
Corn Fritters served with a crisp Western salad and jalapeno dip
Smoky BBQ Ribs served on a bed of western sweet chilli salad
Spicy Buffalo wings smothered in a sticky BBQ sauce served under a fresh ranch salad
Wild West corn and black bean salad with or without chicken, finished with  range dressing
Nachos served with Mexican salsa, guacamole and famous Indian sour cream
Flamed scallops served with chorizo, finished with a light Monterey Jack cheese sauce 
Mains
Long Horn Stew with lots of old cowboy style vegetables, served with corn bread
Cowboy Beef Pie – made with Long Horn breed beef
Gold rushed marinated pork chops on a bed of sweet potato mash with rich country gravy
Chuck wagon chilli traditionally cooked with co-co, served with a western wild rice
Southern Comfort Chicken with a ranch side salad
Western Burger- our homemade ‘Long Horn Breed beef burgers served in an old miners bap with bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, and onion rings finished with jalapenos and a ranch salad 
Buffalo Steaks
Judge- 20oz rump
Sheriff- 12oz rib eye
Deputy-12oz sirloin
Marshall-8oz fillet
Deputy and criminal- 12oz sirloin served with garlic butter and shrimps
Why not try a traditional western BBQ rubbed steak 
Steak sauces
Jim beam, Worcestershire, blue cheese, shot gun hot pepper, Cajun, bbq 
Vegetarian
Spicy bean burgers-western mixed beans with a subtle western spice served in an old miner’s bap and a ranch salad
Half Butternut-squash halved stuffed butternut squash with western marinated vegetables
South-western salad-with mixed salad leaves, corn, black beans, runner beans red onions and a range dressing
Fish
Grilled salmon-with a western crust served on a bed of spinach finished with a pesto dressing
Cajun blackened catfish-well we had to improvise, so were using something similar, monkfish- served with chorizo and rocket salad finished with a chunky sundried tomato salsa
Breaded shrimp-served with a ranch salad & a choice of dips - traditional tartar or a Western spice dip
Baked pike- with a lemon & dill butter but again we had to improvise and change the pike for plaice!
