Please join us this Saturday 13th June for our very first Farm Open Day
Although the farm is always open to visitors, we are inviting you to really get to know the farm...take a walk through the picturesque fields and read as you go... a bit of history, our crop portfolio and a bit of gardening advice thrown in! Guided yours will take place at various intervals throughout the day, with staff on hand to tell you more about the 90 different crops and rare breed livestock we have on the farm. The day will provide an ideal opportunity to find out more about Pick Your Own and which crops are available to pick each month.
Already this season we have bumper crops of strawberries and raspberries, our first gooseberries, broad beans and sugar snap peas. Currants are well on their way so its truly time to dig out your jam recipes (...or just take one of ours). As usual, our chefs will be cooking a feast of delights on the patio, with demonstrations from late morning onwards, using the best of our home grown and Cornish produce, giving you some fresh ideas for what can be done with the fruits of your labour from the fields!
Giles will be setting his alarm for a 2am start to get the hog roast ready in time for our visitors - this has always proved popular (though not with Giles until his third cup of coffee) and will be available on the patio, served in crusty baps with homemade stuffing, apple sauce and some of our delicious Cornish relishes from TM.
With extra points for our loyalty card holders on strawberries, gooseberries, globe artichokes and sugar snap peas the day will be a good opportunity to make a few savings and hopefully learn a bit more about living off the land, the good old fashioned way.
