Just a quick memo to remind you of the big event this weekend - an exciting celebration of all things Cornish in our usual Trevaskis style, with cookery demonstrations and a barbeque led by our talented team of chefs, showcasing the best that Cornwall has to offer from homemade pork sausages from our award winning herd of British Lop pigs (more about our success at the Devon County show in the next newsletter - I'll leave that to Giles!) to home made burgers on the barbeque, fresh fish from Newlyn, Roskilly's ice cream and Roddas serving clotted cream in big mouthwatering dollops from their vintage van with our own delicious strawberries. Cornish ales from Skinners brewery, cheeses, preserves, wines, beers, juices, chocolates and much more to taste and buy. Half and quarter pigs, butchered by Pete and the team, will be on sale to fill your freezer, with recipe cards and advice on cooking and preparation - thrifty shopping the old fashioned way!
For those of you, like myself, looking for cheap and wholesome activities for the kids this half term, the farm will be open all day with litters of piglets, lambs and calves for the children to see as well as strawberry picking and a look in the Organic Kitchen Garden. Entrance to the farm and the Cornish Fayre is free and with face painting on the patio, Monday will be a great day out for adults and children alike.
Timings are as follows!
Chef's barbeque from 11.30 am
Cooking demonstrations at 11.45 and 1.30
And for those of you who can't make it on Monday, do remember that the farm is open to visitors everyday and is looking lovely at the the moment with bumper crops of fruit ripening in the fields ready to be picked.
We look forward to seeing you!
