Ringing the changes at Trevaskis...
Edition 17 - Date 4/12/08
In his pre-budget speech in November, the Chancellor announced a 2.5% decrease in VAT to 15% effective from December 1st. We are delighted to pass this directly on to you, across our restaurant menus - one of a few lovely Christmas surprises for all those of you who have booked your office Christmas parties in the restaurant or who are dining with us over the Christmas period. Couple this with our new loyalty card scheme and there are substantial savings to be had...

Thousands of Trevaskis customers set to benefit from the VAT decrease this Christmas!
Having frozen the prices on our evening menu for the past two years, we have already striven to shield you from the substantial increase in costs such as ingredients, animal feeds and so on, that we have experienced as a business, while maintaining the excellent quality of our meals by refusing to compromise on the standard of our ingredients (...just ask our farm staff and our suppliers!).

We are delighted to be able to pass this further saving on to you as it means that, while everybody is searching for good value in these difficult times, we are still providing a realistic option that is affordable but of the same excellent quality you have come to expect.

Price comparison is a necessary part of the job across our business; finding an excellent product with the right price and ensuring sustainable relationships with good suppliers; from sourcing animal feeds to vegetable seeds, to our eco friendly packaging, constant scrutiny and review ensures we remain affordable, from the meals in our restaurant to our home grown fruit and vegetables, to the meats in our butchery.

We understand that, in every home, you will be undergoing the same process at the moment, to ensure the weekly shop is affordable and that you can still allow yourself a few luxuries over the Christmas period. In The Market, we compare our prices across a range of fruit and vegetable items, as well as across the butchery and fishmongers, against the major supermarkets to ensure our prices remain competitive. This is displayed in the Market so that you can see exactly where you are making savings by shopping with us, as well as buying into the sound ethos of our product sourcing.

Wednesday 10th & Wednesday 17th December - choirs of little angels to sing at Trevaskis!
If your are anything like my wife who sheds a tear at the sound of children singing, no matter what time of year, then you will love the free carol singing events here this Christmas. Choirs of children from Trewirgie and Bodriggy schools are coming to entertain lunchtime shoppers and diners at Trevaskis.

The staff and children have kindly fitted us in to their incredibly hectic Christmas schedule, to come and share some of their Christmas songs and festive cheer with us! Both schools have been great supporters of the farm, visiting on numerous occasions for tours during the warmer months. It is with great pleasure that we welcome them to come and entertain diners and shoppers this month. With cups of warm mulled apple juice from Cornish Orchards and home made mince pies on sale in the Market, the potential nightmare that Christmas shopping can be becomes a whole new, delightful occasion!

The event is free of charge and we are delighted that these schools have agreed to visit us at such a busy time. We very much hope that you will come and support them.
